To install this theme, you must have an active Shopify store. Shopify is a fully hosted e-commerce platform, so no server-side setup (PHP, MySQL, FTP, etc.) is required. Below are some useful resources to help you get started with Shopify.

Shopify is a SaaS (Software as a Service) platform. All hosting, server configuration, and performance optimizations are managed by Shopify automatically.

The theme is built using Shopify’s standard technologies:

  • Liquid templating language
  • HTML, CSS, and JavaScript

The theme can be installed easily from the Shopify Admin panel. Please follow the instructions carefully to ensure a successful installation.

You can download the theme package from ThemeForest. Make sure to download the Shopify Theme Installable ZIP only.

  2. Upload it as a new theme in Online Store > Themes.

Theme JSON Configuration

Shopify Online Store 2.0 themes use JSON templates and configuration files to control page structure and theme settings. The two most commonly edited files are:

  • templates/index.json – Controls homepage sections
  • config/settings_data.json – Stores saved theme settings
Important: Always create a backup before editing JSON files. Invalid JSON will break the storefront editor.

The index.json file defines which sections appear on the homepage and their order.

  1. Go to Online Store > Themes
  2. Click … > Edit code
  3. Open templates/index.json
  4. Paste the code from Ochaka-pkg > Skins > Skin Name > SkinName index

The settings_data.json file stores all saved theme settings, section configurations, and block values selected in the Theme Editor.

  1. Go to Online Store > Themes
  2. Click … > Edit code
  3. Open config/settings_data.json
  4. Paste the code from Ochaka-pkg > Skins > Skin Name > SkinName Settings
Do not: Manually delete section IDs or block IDs unless you fully understand the dependencies.

Products

Before you start adding products to your store, we recommend you to check the information provided in the official Shopify documentation.

You may add all supported variants to a product by default, such as:

  • Size
  • Color

These options will work with:

  • Product Item
  • Quick View
  • Product Page

All options below can be added as unique parameters for each product via metafields.

How to create Metafields

Parameter Function
Additional Information Stores extra product details to be displayed in a Product page.
Group Product Used to associate related products together.
Volume Discount Defines tier-based pricing or discounts based on quantity purchased.

  2. Go to Settings > Metafields and Metaobjects.
  3. Select the resource type. In our case choose product.

The specification table allows you to display structured technical specifications for products in a clean, organized table format. This is implemented using metaobjects and custom Liquid code.

Specification Table Setup

Field Description
Name Readable label shown in admin.
Type Defines the data format.

Metaobjects allow you to create reusable structured content in Shopify. They are ideal for managing repeated data such as size charts, delivery, and comparison tables.

Unlike metafields, metaobjects can contain multiple fields and multiple entries, making them suitable for complex data structures.

Metaobjects allow you to create reusable structured content for your products. The specification table uses two connected metaobjects to store data.

Step 1: Create "Specification Row" Metaobject

This stores individual specification items (label + value pairs).

  1. Go to Settings > Metafields and Metaobjects
  2. Look for Metaobject Definitions Add definitions
  3. Enter the following details:
    • Name: Specification Row
    • Handle: specification_row
    • Description: Individual specification items
  4. Add the following fields:
    • Label (Single line text) - Specification name (e.g., "Material")
    • Value (Single line text) - Specification value (e.g., "100% Cotton")
  5. Click Save

Step 2: Create "Specification Column" Metaobject

This stores a column of specifications that references multiple rows.

  1. Click Add definition
  2. Enter the following details:
    • Name: Specification Column
    • Handle: specification_column
    • Description: A column of product specifications
  3. Add the following fields:
    • Title (Single line text) - Column heading (e.g., "Dimensions")
    • Rows (List of metaobjects) - References "Specification Row" entries
  4. Click Save

Field Structure Summary:

Metaobject Field Name Type Purpose
Specification Row Label Single line text Specification name (e.g., "Material", "Weight")
Value Single line text Specification value (e.g., "100% Cotton", "200g")
Specification Column Title Single line text Column heading (e.g., "General Specifications")
Rows List of metaobjects References "Specification Row" entries
How it works: The "Specification Column" metaobject references multiple "Specification Row" entries. This allows you to create reusable specification items and group them into columns for display.

Example Data Structure:

When you create entries, structure them like this:

Field Example Value
title General Specifications
rows
  • label: "Material", value: "100% Cotton"
  • label: "Care Instructions", value: "Machine washable"
  • label: "Origin", value: "Made in USA"
title Technical Details
rows
  • label: "Weight", value: "200g"
  • label: "Dimensions", value: "30cm x 50cm"
Next Steps: After creating the metaobject definition and entries, create a product metafield to reference this metaobject. The theme will automatically display the specification table.
